the HELIX

In The Helix, Can Bora transforms the performance space into a contemporary sanctuary using the Green Box technique, revealing the inner portrait of a highly sensitive person through archetypes.

The performance tells the story of a queer Twin Flame, shifting between the present and the 16th century, with nods to the Sufi poet Rumi and his friend Shams. It explores the "hundred meanings of love"—passion, pain, confidence, security, and even commercial collaboration—inviting the audience into a transformative journey. The Helix represents a long-term healing process that challenges societal, cultural, and normative belief systems.

The emotional dynamics of our hearts demand to be seen. We are called to celebrate our hearts because self-love is, at its core, a somatic practice. The work transforms the stage into a shared experience, urging the audience to embrace this collective celebration of love.
